Train trekking in High Garfagnana

We still use the train as a means of support for a nice crossing between villages, countryside and structures that will have as its fulcrum the ascent and the entrance to the beautiful Fortress of Verrucole. Surely the most representative and one of the most preserved among the medieval fortresses in the area.

An easy and pleasant walk retracing part of the Francigenous itinerary that led towards Lucca avoiding the coast, going up the Lunigiana and descending the Serchio, known as “Via del Volto Santo”
