The Alpe di San Pellegrino, the highest village on the Apennines

San Pellegrino in Alpe is the highest village in the whole of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines (1525m), and is placed to guard the historic Via Vandelli which, since the Middle Ages, connected the Po Valley with the sea. A two-day convivial and interesting, which seeks to deepen the knowledge of the Apennines by staying in these places: on Saturday afternoon, after meeting and having become acquainted with the neighborhoods and the salient characters of the town, we will head towards snowshoes. the Ca’Burigone, refuge that will welcome us for the night. The following day we will resume the walk in the snow through the Apennine beech woods, reaching the ridge and making the so-called “devil’s tour”, finally returning to the village. A two-day experience to get to know the magic of the snowy woods in the muffled atmosphere of winter, and to bring out the value of the popular traditions that these places still preserve.
